SECOND FASCIST AND RACIST ATTACK AGAINST SAME FAMILY IN KONYA
According to multiple press news, on July 12, a racist attack was carried out against the family, which was attacked by a racist group of 60 people.
Today, the second attack took place in Konya against Kurdish family, who had previously been attacked by a fascists. Three women were among seven members of the family who were brutally murdered. A racist and fascist attack was carried out in the Meram neighborhood of Konya.
A second attack took place with seven members of the Dedeogulleri family killed in the attack, including three women. The house was also burned to the ground following the attack. The family living in the neighborhood in the Meram district comes from Kars province.
The family had been attacked in May by a mob with knives, stones and sticks, who uttered threats like “We are nationalists. We will not allow you to live here.”
Five people were arrested in connection with the incident, but were released later on the grounds of “inadequate evidence”.
THE REGIME IS THE MAIN CAUSE OF THE MURDERS
“The same family was attacked and those who attacked were released. The murderers returned and now massacred the entire family. The regime’s discriminatory hateful language and anti-Kurdish attitude are the main causes of the murders.” Mahmut Togrul, MP of the HDP.
Erdogan’s regime is responsible for systematic repression and attacks against Kurds and other peoples living in Turkey. The hostility of the Erdogan regime against non-Turks and non-Muslims intensified; Kurds, Armenians, Greeks, Jews and other minority groups being targeted.
The HDP has been target for systematic repressions and attacks by the Erdogan regime since 2015. In particular, the Kurds and other peoples have been targeted since the founding of the Republic of Turkey.
SECOND ATTACK IN HDP’S MARMARIS DISTRICT ORGANISATION
The Marmaris District Organisation of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) was attacked again last night around 2 a.m.
In Marmaris, there was a second attack on the HDP building in the same month. On July 14, there was a shooting attack on the county organization. All the items inside were shot and A.T. D. was arrested in connection with the attack, while four others were released on condition of judicial control.

According to Mezopotamya News Agency (MA), a Kurdish family from Amed (Diyarbakır), who has been residing in Çarıklıköy in the Meram district of Konya for 20 years, has been targeted by a racist attack in which at least 60 people attacked the Kurdish family with guns. One of the family members, Hakim Dal (43) was killed in the attack. It is reported that racists living in Karahüyük had threatened the family several times before.
‘THEY ATTACKED BECAUSE WE ARE KURDISH’
The victim’s brother Hamdi Dal said that the attack took place because they were Kurds.
“They didn’t want us since we are Kurdish. They were telling us ‘You will sell these places and leave’. People living in the surrounding villages were also putting pressure on us, they wanted us to leave. They had threatened us from time to time before. An argument started in the evening among the shepherds who were grazing animals on an empty land in our village. After the argument, a group of at least 60 people came from Karahüyük with guns in their hands. We were three people and they attacked us because we were Kurds, citing the argument as an excuse. My brother died in the attack.”
‘VILLAGE HEADMAN INSTIGATED ATTACKERS’
Eyewitness Mehmet Emin pointed out that, “The family makes a living from animal husbandry. They have lived in this village for a long time. There have been at least three attempts to attack them before. The village headman was provoking the villagers against the family. He is the instigator. He has been taken into custody. No one has been detained other than him.”
‘SYSTEMATIC REPRESSION’ HAS EVOLVED INTO ‘DEADLY ATTACKS’
The latest attacks show that the Erdogan regime’s systematic repression against HDP and Kurds has turned into “deadly attacks” on the ground. Erdogan’s and his nationalist coalition partner D. Bahçeli’s hostile rethoric against HDP and Kurds have paved the way for the following attacks in the last month.
- On July 19, Kurdish seasonal agricultural workers were attacked in the western Afyon province. Seven people, including two women, have been injured in a racist attack on Kurdish seasonal agricultural workers in the western province of Afyon, according to a report by Mesopotamia Agency (MA).
- On July 14, a person with a shotgun attacked the district office of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) in Marmaris, Muğla, early in the morning. The assailant, A.T.D (28), had also attacked the office in 2018 and legal action was taken against him because of “damaging property,” said the governor’s office.
- On July 12, a racist group living in the same neighbourhood had attacked a Kurdish family in Bahçeşehir neighbourhood in Konya’s Meram district. The racist group attacked and seriously injured a family of 7, of whom 4 were women. The racist group said, “We are nationalists, we will not let you live here” as they attacked the family.
- On 17 June, an assailant with a shotgun attacked our office in İzmir. Deniz Poyraz, the daughter of a party employee, was in the office, and she lost her life as a result of the assailant’s gunfire.
