Solidarity With HDP Actions Took Place Across Europe and Canada

Expressions of solidarity with the HDP took place in a lot of countries of Europe and Canada on Saturday the 18. Sept. and Sunday the 19. Sept.

While the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) is facing closure from the Erdogan regime in Turkey; the ‘Unity of Democratic Forces in Europe’ (ADGB) called for simultaneous demonstrations and rallies with the slogan ‘The HDP cannot be banned, we will defeat fascism together’. Solidarity efforts have been supported by hundreds of people in spite of COVID-19 restrictions.

In Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Finland and Canada, the Kurds and their friends stood shoulder to shoulder with the HDP. Kurds living abroad have taken action against the policies of repression, detention, arrest and closure by AKP/MHP fascism against the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP).

Within nearly 20 cities, demonstrations and gatherings took place with the slogans; “We shall not let the HDP be banned, we shall defeat fascism together”, and “We are the HDP, we are everywhere”.

Solidarity actions took place in following cities.

FRANCE: Paris, Rennes, Marseille, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Draguignan, Strasbourg, Montpelier

NETHERLANDS: Den Haag

AUSTRIA: Wien

SWITZERLAND: Luzern

CANADA: Toronto
